Getting ready for the baby
Well, we spent several hours on Saturday actually going through the nursery. Nathan dragged boxes out into the family room for me to go through while sitting on the couch, and at the end of it, we had 8 or 9 big boxes of trash which went out on the curb. Yay. There's now a path so that I can get in there and go through my big file cabinet at the next opportunity. Next steps include arranging for movers to move the desk up to the bedroom, and having them take all of the other stuff to an off-site storage unit. Then we can get in there and paint. And, ultimately, start putting baby furniture in place. Hopefully, that's what we'll be doing by Christmas.
This weekend was another big highlight - Nathan was able to feel the baby moving from the outside for the first time. He put his hand on my side and felt a couple of big kicks! That was pretty exciting. The baby seems to be jumping around all the time now, especially if I'm still.
Also this weekend, we got dressed up, drove downtown and went out to dinner at a real restaurant, on the assumption that we only have so many more of those nights out for the next little while. Of course, I had steak. Mmmm.
