No. Nonononononononononono.

We're seeing an explosion in language development. Some of it, unfortunately, is a lot of "no". Yesterday morning, around 5 AM, we heard him wake up on the monitor, say "No", and go back to sleep. Ahh, the beginnings of a good day.

However, as you see from the pictures, the "no" thing seems to be mainly a game, and he's generally pretty happy, provided that we let him do things independently, as he would like. This means walking down the stairs, not being carried, holding the spoon AND the yogurt container, and dipping wheat crackers into the yogurt. Dipping string cheese into applesauce is another big hit.

Zack understands a lot of what we say now, and he's just starting to really tell us things back. He's mastered the shrug (palms turned up, questioning face), which usually seems to mean "Where did it go?". Example: throw the soccer ball cross the living room, then shrug "Hmm, where did it go?".

He's also having another growth spurt - it's a good thing the summer is ending, because I had to pack up most of his summer clothes. At playgroup, the other Moms keep asking me "How tall is he now??". He's quite tall among his peers.

WOW Zack. I am happy to know you are ready to be a big kid now. You can say no and read books, and turn your palms over in the WHO ME?? gesture, when you know it was you NOT Orley who did it.
Way to go. Can't wait to see you in October. We miss you. Love. Aunt Sherry
